Choosing Colour Schemes
Whether you’re designing marketing materials, organising a wedding or painting your kitchen; finding the perfect combination of colours can be a time consuming and daunting task. Fortunately, there is a online tool which can help you with choosing complementary colours, called Adobe Kuler.
The quickest way to view lots of colour schemes is by using the ‘Explore’ option in the navigation.
You can browse through different themes or use the search bar at the top to search for colours. You can either use a keyword such as ‘red’ or you can paste a colour’s HEX reference, e.g. f39200.
To view more information about one theme, hover and click ‘Edit Copy’.
This will then show this colour scheme on it’s own along with RGB, CMYK and HEX references.
You can also create your own colour schemes using the ‘Create’ feature. Simply type in the colour references.
You can also choose a colour scheme by using an image – select the camera icon in the top right of the screen. The 5 most dominant colours will be chosen and you can choose between the Colour Mood options on the left. To view the colour information and references, use the colour wheel icon – top right.
To get the most out of Kuler, you can sign in with your Adobe ID, this then allows you to save, contribute and add your thoughts on the various colour schemes. If you have any questions, give us a call!
