On Friday 2nd November, our team headed down to Burnley Mechanics to celebrate the Pendleside Hospice’s Corporate Challenge Awards with hundreds of leading East Lancashire professionals.
The glitzy event was a perfect opportunity to celebrate the efforts of everyone involved in the Corporate Challenge this year, and to commemorate the fundraising target being smashed. A grand total of £157,036 was raised by fundraisers.
Our very own Graphic Designer Kayleigh James was presented with the Female of the Year Award for her incredible organisational skills, determination from start to finished and being an all-round fundraising, team-playing superstar. Without her, our fundraising total would not have been so impressive!
We were shortlisted for three more awards on the night too: Digital Marketing Award, Most Innovative Idea Award and Best Newcomer Award. Our Junior Marketing Executive Rhyse Hines was also shortlisted for the Rising Star Award.
This was our first year of taking part in the Pendleside Hospice Corporate Challenge. The whole team got involved as part of our 10 year anniversary celebrations, and it really added some competitive fun to the office.
We were also proud to be the sponsors of the Best Event Category, an accolade given to the fundraisers who put on the best charity event to raise money for the Corporate Challenge. Director of Root Fifty Two Kimberley Thompson presented this award to Burnley-based IT company, Seriun.
Our table included our long-standing clients DRN Solicitors, with whom we were privileged to share the evening’s festivities with. Their own team came away from the event with an award of their own – and a business total of £6001. An amazing donation to a well-loved local charity.
Raising a total of £2510 within our team, Director Kimberley Thompson said:
“Winning an award was an incredible way to celebrate our first ever Corporate Challenge. We are always keen to raise money for Pendleside Hospice, a charity that’s close to so many of our hearts. Kayleigh did a Fantastic job & her award was well deserved. To be involved during our 10 year anniversary, and on a year when such a huge total amount was raised made it even more special. We’re also proud of our clients DRN for picking up the Best Funsraiser Award, and we’re already looking forward to next year’s fundraising.”
We would like to thank all the corporate sponsors of the Corporate Challenge Awards for enabling such a fantastic event to take place, and DRN for generously sponsoring the drinks reception. Our team had a brilliant evening networking with leading businesses from across East Lancashire, and celebrating the achievements of everyone there.
