Community & Business Partners CIC (CBP) is a not-for-profit organisation based in Blackburn, which has been supporting businesses across Lancashire for over thirty years.

CBP also provides support to local communities through their four key impact areas; business, community, environment, and skills.

Most recently, the organisation has set up CBP Members – a programme which offers its monthly members a host of benefits, including discounted business support provided by a team of specialists, discounted networking events, and free group peer mentoring sessions – and Root Fifty-Two is proud to be amongst the first ten founding members!

“For thirty years, we’ve helped businesses across the county to start, grow, and address issues using the skills within our network of business specialists, mentors and coaches,” says Jaydee Davis, Operations Director of Community & Business Partners CIC. “As well as providing business support services, CBP also works extensively in the local community.

As a not-for-profit, we constantly reinvest into the community, so CBP Members will not only get access to our pool of business specialists at a hugely discounted rate, ultimately benefiting their own business, but by being a member, they’ll also be supporting and directly impacting their local community, too.”

Some of the causes the organisation supports include supplying food to people in need, reclaiming materials from landfill sites, and helping to upskill the local population.

“Every month, we collect the equivalent of 885 meals from supermarkets, provide 120 food boxes to families in need, and give 2000 people access to reclaimed materials for arts, crafts and play.

CBP Members was launched at the inaugural ‘Your Business Bootcamp’, held at Turf Moor in Burnley, which welcomed an audience of 150 local business leaders networking and learning from a host of keynote speakers, and r52 directors Kimberley and Barrie were pleased to attend!

“The first ‘Your Business Bootcamp’ was absolutely fantastic, and we both feel like we’ve taken a lot away from the day,” says Kimberley. “We were treated to some great, inspirational talks from David Eccles, Paul White, Adam Botterill, Jonathan Finch, and Pam Duxbury FCA, with some interesting and thought-provoking topics discussed by the panel speakers, Rachel Haslam, Jonathan Finch, Barry Kilby and Zilpah Hartley, led by Morgan Rothwell.

“We were delighted to see that the event had sold out, and it was a great opportunity for us to meet with some of the other founding CBP Members, and to network with a host of leaders from other businesses in the local area. I even won a bottle of fizz at the end, so that was the cherry on top for me!

“We’re really grateful to have been invited along to the event, and we look forward to attending many more!” If you’re interested in becoming a CBP Member, monthly membership is £50, and you can get involved by emailing info@cbpartners.org.
