In partnership with our client, Petty Estate Agents, we are pleased to announce that we are launching an exciting live brief opportunity, for graphic design students at Nelson and Colne College.

The project involves students working on ideas for a new advertising campaign, with the winning designs featured across social media and various other marketing channels.

Introduced to second year BTEC students by Petty Director, Ian Bythell, the initiative provides a fantastic opportunity for NCC students to gain some valuable work experience, working with a well-respected local business.

All the team here at R52 are excited to support the development of our local creative industry, by giving students this great opportunity to propel their careers. During the formation of a successful career in graphic design, it is always important to put together a portfolio of work showcasing your skills to future employers, or clients. This opportunity allows students to get ahead of the game, by producing a real-world piece of work: a great asset that will help kick-start their career when it comes to starting out in the workplace.

The experience gained in taking part in the process will be invaluable, even for the students who don’t win on this occasion. Working with a client, to their brief and in a live environment, will no doubt help preparations for a successful career.

A career in graphic design can be extremely rewarding, especially when it comes to seeing the value that you are able to add to a clients’ business, and ultimately the part you play in great success stories. For the winning entries this feeling of job satisfaction will come ahead of time, giving the students a taste of a career that they can truly excel at, and enjoy.

Best of luck to all the students taking part, we look forward to visiting the college again soon to see what everybody has been working on!
